Return To Work rehabilitation programme
KUALA LUMPUR: The Social Security Organisation (Socso) will soon launch a programme to help its contributors who are disabled due to occupational injuries to return to work.
Under the “Return To Work” rehabilitation programme, the members would be retrained for new employment opportunities apart from being provided with other support.
“This way we will also be able to change their mindset to not depend solely on their Socso disability pension,” said Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam to reporters after handing over Socso compensations here yesterday.
Dr Subramaniam said participants of the programme would receive a monthly allowance of RM500 for bachelors, and RM800 for those with families and dependants.
Socso has appointed 10 case managers to carry out the programme and to study each participant’s case.
At the ceremony, Dr Subramaniam handed over cheques worth RM466,000 to 34 of its contributors in the Klang Valley. The recipients were either temporarily or permanently disabled.
Also present were Socso chairman Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid and its chief executive K. Selvarajah.
