The important rule to remember when resigning from any job is don’t leave on bad terms. So, as much as you may want to tell off your boss, you should never burn any bridges. Courtesy, etiquette, and professionalism go a long way.
Notice Period
Read carefully your terms and conditions (can be in the offer letter or handbook) of employment on the “termination clause”. If this clause was not spell out in the offer letter, see what is the notice period provision under the Employment Act .
This is a sample of termination clause :

Upon such termination the Employee shall not thereafter be entitled to any of the benefits contained in this Contract, or to any claim for compensation or damages by reason of such termination.
The Employee’s employment under this Contract may at any time be terminated by either party by giving of three (3) months’ prior notice in writing to the other, or by payment of three (3) months’ basic salary in lieu thereof.
Employer Ask to Stay ?
In case the employer asks you to stay longer than the required notice period (or the time period in your contract), you have no obligations to stay. Offer them a help through email, phone instead.
