Jobstreet Tips : What is Jobstreet Priority application
Priority application is another value added services by jobstreet. By subscribing to this Priority Application you will simply increase your interview opportunities compared to other candidates. When you subscribe for this service, your resume will be highlighted as a Priority Application and your application will automatically move to the top of the Applicants List for that job. This will increase you chance to be called for interview.

Why should You should use Priority Application?
Each employer will normally receive more than 100 applications for each position they advertise on Jobstreet.com. Priority Application will enable you to:
- Stand out from the rest of the applicants and attract the employers’ attention
- Your application and resume will be displayed highest on the employer’s list
- You will have a higher chance of being shortlisted, as compared to a normal application received from another jobseeker who has similar work experience and skills.

The cost
You can select a package same as or 1 level higher than their position level selected in their JobStreet resume.
- Entry Level & Non-Executive – RM25
- Junior Executive – RM50
- Senior Executive – RM75
- Sr. Manager & Manager – RM100
The payment can be made through credit card or cheque payable to Jobstreet Sdn Bhd
Please take note that each Prepaid package is valid for 6 months.
My comments
By default, when the recruiter first open the job folder which contains a summary of all applicants, those subscribing to priority application will be listed at the top eventhough their profiles doesn’t meet the job requirement. Being a recruiter we will always see the top list, however if the summary shown a profile which doesn’t meet the job requirement very often your resume will be moved to rejected folder.
In this recruiter screening page also there is a feature where we can sort applications based on age, years experience, education etc. If the recruiter do the sorting, your application will automatically be arranged as per the sorting rule. Meaning your application will no more be at the top but the is a “Priority Application” badge to differentiate your resume from the rest of the applicants. From the recruiter eyes also we know that PA subscriber is a serious jobseeker.
Just like what Jobstreet disclaimer “the employers will invite you to attend an interview only if you possess the skills that they are looking for. An employer may also take other matters into consideration before they invite you for an interview.” As such, subscribing to Priority Application does not mean that you will be automatically invited for an interview. However, Priority Application will give you a visible edge over hundreds of other applicants.
So, its up to you. If the amount is not a problem to you, give yourself a try. I have subscribed this service many years ago, but the cost is for 1 year not for 6 months like what they offer now.
