JobsDB – Compensation & Benefit Survey 2008
JobsDB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, an online recruitment and human resource management solution provider has recently unveiled their JobsDB C&B Survey 2008 result. The survey which was conducted last October 2008 involved 100 corporations covering 36 business sectors in country.
Eventhough, this survey is just a survey but for me this is important as we want to see how local companies response to the economic slowdown. In general, based on the survey, 65% of employers have indicated they have not made any change in their C&B while 35% planning to make changes. This shows most employers are positive but cautious about the performance of their companies this year.
Amongst other important points highlighted are as follows :
- 47% of companies surveyed provided guaranteed performance bonus or year-end bonus to their staff in 2008
- 76%of the employees are expected to enjoy five-day working week
- 39% will freezing salaries in response to economic crisis
- In follow up phone interview, 93% of the companies did not retrench their employees last and has no plan to do this year.
